Previous Exhibitions

The “Portuguese-speaking Countries’ Products and Services Exhibition (Macau) 2020” (2020PLPEX) was held simultaneously with“The 25th Macao International Trade and Investment Fair”(25th MIF) and the “Macao Franchise Expo 2020” (2020MFE), with an exhibition area of 25,000 ㎡ and approximately 1,200 booths. The three exhibitions together attracted over 1,000 exhibitors from all over the world, including Mainland China, Portugal, Brazil, Japan, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong and Macau. The online exhibition and offline exhibition covered a various areas, including project investment, modern financial services, science and technology projects, food and beverage, cultural and creative industries, typical products from Portuguese-speaking countries, professional consultancy services and franchise chain industry.

The three exhibitions were held simultaneously to further strengthen Macau’s function as a “Commercial and Trade Co-operation Service Platform between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries”, targeting to enhance its international influence and to promote Macau’s moderate economic diversification. All three events have set up online exhibition platforms, with over 1,100 exhibitors and 4,300 exhibits in total. In addition to online meeting, the three exhibitions also introduced online matching and online signing services, arranging “online-offline” business matching negotiations, as well as specific matching events during the exhibitions.

In terms of results, during the exhibition, over 100 projects were signed; more than 270 online matching sessions were conducted; over 50 forums, conferences and promotion sessions were held. Each exhibitor conducted at least three matching sessions during 2021PLPEX. The jewelry industry further explored the “one show, two locations” model of cooperation between Zhuhai and Macao, planning to make Macao the largest luxury goods and jewelry exhibition in the Asia-Pacific region; the translation industry expanded its services and is expected to offer Portuguese language courses in Zhuhai; the food industry received numbers of wholesale and retail cooperation intentions with clients.
